YOUR NEXT MUST SEE MOVIE
Wednesday 10-01-2008 12:33pm ET
The movie “Fireproof”(from the makers of "Facing the Giants" – see trailer below) is in theatres now. It is showing at various Theatres in Dayton. My wife and I saw it and were blown away of how inspiring it is.  You will laugh, cry, be on the edge of your seat.  Let me put it this way - opening weekend it only showed in 839 theatres. It made 6.5 MILLION dollars. Does that tell you how many people went to see it? And to think, they made such a good movie with a great message for only 500,000.  This is really a movie you NEED to see with your spouse. It will change you.  As good of a husband I think I am, I know I can be better now.

By the way, "The Love Dare" is a real book.I have alreadyed ordered my copy online.

Meet the newest addition to our family – TOFFEE!
Toffee was found when she was only 7 days old and brought to my wife’s animal clinic. Needless to say she nursed her to health and we decided to keep her. She is a cutie!

Below are some update photos of how well Barnum and Paisley are taking to Toffee.

The Barnum and Paisley Story
Friday 10-03-2008 9:51am ET
Hi everyone. First off, I would like to thank all of those who have given their sympathies to my wife and I on the loss of our “baby” Bailey. With that in mind, I would like to take a second or two to share a true story about our weekend of loss and gain. When I came home on Friday, October 13th and saw that Bailey could not even stand on her own, as much as it pained my wife and I, we knew we had to do what was best for her and not for us. Later that night, Bailey was put to rest and went to a better place. My wife and I was there when it happened, telling her the whole time, “We Love you Bailey”, “You’re a Good Girl Bailey”. The nod came from Dave, my wife’s step dad, boss, and our vet. We knew we were alone. The drive home was long and emotional for both of us. We arrived home later that night to discover the house that we bought just 6 months ago, was not only empty, but neither of us wanted to be there anymore. Friends and family alike offered to put Bailey and us in their thoughts and prayers and for that, we are grateful.

The next morning my wife and I awoke (from what sleep we could get) and shared stories with each other about Bailey. We laughed, we cried, we went through every emotion you can imagine. See Bailey was more than a cat, she was our baby. We don’t have kids of our own so we spoiled Bailey the best we could. Through “Bailey” stories, we also shared our prayers. We both asked, “Please take care of Bailey and help us through this time”.
We always said when Bailey leaves, we waited two more kittens, one boy, one girl, both Siamese. We decided that the house can not and will not remain empty. That morning we began the search not for a replacement for Bailey, but a home for two new kittens. After going through the phone book and writing down about half a dozen numbers of places to call to find two Siamese kittens, the dialing began.

Our first call was to the Dayton Mall. “Hi, I know this is a long shot, but do you know where we can find Siamese kittens?” I asked. The voice replied, “As a matter of fact, we have two, one boy, one girl.” Before I could even draw a breath, the words were already leaving my mouth, “Can you please hold them! We will be there in 1 hour!” She did, we were.

We adopted our two new kittens (Barnum & Paisley) later that morning. People talk about fate, faith, and how God works. I know many people have different faiths and beliefs, and that is fine. However, make no mistake, after what we went through and to have our prayers answered the very next morning, was nothing short than believing in your faith that things will work out and there is a bigger power at work.

Since we have gotten them home, things have been an adjustment. We still miss Bailey, and we still cry. However, we find ourselves laughing at the antics of two new playful kittens. I know we will never stop missing Bailey, but I also know the lap that she is sitting on now is watching over us all and for that, we are thankful.

On the ride home with the brother and sister duo of Barnum & Paisley (yes, they are littermates! We truly are two families into one!), a song was on the radio. It was Natalie Merchant’s “Wonder”. In the song, there is a line, “they say I must be one of the wonders of god's own creation and as far as they can see they can offer no explanation”. We now truly have TWO wonders of God’s own creation, and the only explanation I can give is by keeping to your faith, sometimes the answer is “Yes”.
